Insights from Mindsite’s Co-Founder on Global E-Commerce Intelligence and Scaling Through Resilience

Mindsite co-founder Ismail Arapzade shared his journey from corporate life to entrepreneurship, his strategies for expanding into global markets, and tips for profitable growth during periods of capital scarcity.

Ismail's journey began when he graduated from Boğaziçi University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and started his career as a sales representative at P&G Turkey. Drawing on his own experiences with workplace challenges, he founded Mindsite, which has grown into a major platform that analyzes and acts on brands' e-commerce channel data.

The venture, which started by billing its first invoice to its former employer, P&G, now serves major brands in 15 different countries with a team of 50 people.

One of the most critical points highlighted in the broadcast was Mindsite's vision for globalization. Ismail explained how they got the operation up and running by physically being present in a huge and untapped market like Indonesia (living there for 6-7 months). Using the “Insider” model as an example, he shared that they established “pioneer” teams that carried Turkey's core culture abroad and are now managing a multinational operation stretching from Saudi Arabia to the UK, and from Indonesia to Latin America soon.

Sharing his strategies for times of capital scarcity, Ismail emphasized that the era of “burning cash” is over, and that gross profit margin and efficiency have become the most important metrics.

“We are raising capital not to survive, but to grow,” he said, explaining how a profitable business model gives founders freedom and power at the investment table.

Ismail also touched on the subject of personal discipline and mental resilience, stating that he sees long flights as the most productive moments for thinking and that he envisions a future where 10 different nations from 10 different countries work together under the Mindsite umbrella.

“This journey is not just about investing in the product, but in the culture that will sustain that product in every market,” he told entrepreneurs, delivering this message:
“Focus on your product market fit (PMF). Choose profitable and sustainable growth over rushing into irrational sales. When you focus on creating real value, investment will find you.”
